KJF holds protest against hr violations in IHK

ISLAMABAD: Kashmir Journalist Forum has held protest against severe human rights violations and ban on media in occupied Kashmir in front of National Press Club. Protesters demanded that international community should play its role to stop genocide of kashmiris and help vacate ban on media in occupied Kashmir.

They also demanded that journalists belong to Kashmir should be allowed to travel across the line of control. Addressing on the occasion, President National Press Club Islamabad Shakil Anjam has said that Pakistanis have special love and care for the Kashmiris. He added that all people should unite on one platform to struggle for the resolution of Kashmir issue. He said that if all political parties will come on one platform for Kashmir than it would bring positive result for Kashmir. President Kashmir Journalist Forum Sardar Abid Khurshid said that blanket ban was being imposed on freedom of expression in occupied Kashmir and a daily named Kashmir Reader has been banned. “Pakistani media should raise voice against it and support freedom of speech”, he added. Former president National Press Club and senior journalist Sheryar Khan said that innocent people in occupied Kashmir were being martyred but our media was silent on such brutalities. He demanded that like the other events, Kashmir issue be highlighted in same spirit and stop dual standards must be avoided in this regarded. Senior journalist CR Shamsi,Vice President AJK Press Foundation Amjad Ch, President RIUJ Ali Raza Alvi,AR Sagar and other also addressed the protest and attended by the members of Kashmir Journalist Forum.
