ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif on Tuesday met with Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar to discuss matters related to political and security situation of the country.
According to sources, the controversial news story by an English newspaper about alleged civil-military rift also came under discussion in the meeting.
During the meeting, consultation was also held over formation of investigation committee to probe the matter of controversial news story, sources said.
Sources said that a civil officer will be handed over the task to head the investigation committee.
The meeting comes following Interior Minister’s press conference held after the sacking of information minister Pervaiz Rashid.
In his speech, Nisar had said that the former interior minister should have made sure that the controversial story should not have been published.
He also said that the journalist behind the false story should be made answerable before nation.
