Muzaffarabad: AJK Prime Minister, Raja Farooq Haider Khan announced to open land routes between AJK and Gilgit Baltistan and increase the quota in educational institutions reserved for the students of the region.

Talking to members of the Gilgit Baltistan Cabinet here on Sunday, the Prime Minister said China Pakistan Economic Corridor would change the fate of the region including Gilgit and Baltistan and added that entire nation is united and one to make this crucial project a success.

The Prime Minister said that people of Azad Kashmir and Gilgit Baltistan are tied with the bond of historical, ideological and geographical relationship and AJK government would give this relationship a new dimension by reviving land routes between the two regions.

He said that he had invited Chief Minister GB and member of his cabinet to visit Azad Kashmir, which they graciously accepted. The Prime Minister said that he will also visit GB soon. He added that besides reopening historical land routes between AJK and Gilgit Baltistan, his government will take all others necessary steps to bring the people of the two regions closed.

He announced that Quota reserved on AJK medical colleges and other educational institution would be increased to facilitate the students of Gilgit and Baltistan in acquiring professional and higher education. Meanwhile AJK Prime Minister expressed his grave concern over the deteriorating health of Kashmiri leader Yaseen Malik and demanded immediate release of all political prisoners including ailing Yaseen Malik on humanitarian ground. He said that Indian government is deliberately not providing health care facilities to the hurriyat leader Yaseen Malik. The Prime Minister asserted that Mr. Malik should he released from the illegal detention and be allowed to proceed to abroad for medical treatment.

Prime Minister appealed to the international human rights organizations to take notice of Indian excesses in Kashmir and help release of Yaseen Malik and other detainees. He also urged people of Azad Jammu and Kashmir to celebrate founding day of AJK government with zeal and national fervor
