Muzaffarabad: All arrangements have been finalized to celebrate the 69th foundation day of Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) on Monday in a befitting manner. The day will be observed throughout the liberated territory with the renewed pledge to continue the struggle till liberation of Occupied Jammu and Kashmir from Indian clutches and accession of the whole state to Pakistan.

The day will dawn with 21 guns salute in the state capital. Special prayers will be offered in mosques for integrity, prosperity of Pakistan and early liberation of occupied Jammu and Kashmir. Functions, flag hoisting ceremonies, seminars and prayer ceremonies will be held at all district headquarters of the state to mark the day.

Special tributes will be paid to the Shuhada and heroes of the Kashmir liberation struggle. In the state capital the main flag hoisting ceremony will be held at President Secretariat where Acting AJK President who will be the chief guest on the occasion will hoist Pakistan and AJK flags. AJK cabinet Ministers, members of AJK legislative Assembly and Kashmir Council, high-ranking civil and military officials and notables of the state will attend the function.

The central ceremony in connection with Youm-e-Tasees will be held at University Ground Muzaffarabad at 08:30 A.M. Chief Minister Punjab Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif and Chief Minister of Gilgit Baltistan Hafiz Hafeez ur Rehman are expected to attend the ceremony. Azad Jammu and Kashmir Prime Minister Raja Farooq Haider Khan will hoist the Pakistan and Azad Kashmir flags in the ceremony.

Meanwhile, A Special Thematic Seminar named “Qafla-e-Yakjehti-e-Kashmir” would also be held at Chella Campus of Azad Kashmir and Kashmir University. AJK President, Prime Minister, Chairman Higher Education Commission Prof. Dr. Mukhtar Ahmed and the Vice Chancellors of all the universities of AJK would attend the seminar. All the three stations of Azad Kashmir radio will air special programmes to highlight the significance of the day.
