MIRPUR ( AJK), (Parliament Times) : US-based acting Chairman of JammuKashmir LiberationFront ( JKLF -Yasin Malik), Raja Muzaffar, has strongly condemned the restrictions imposed on Friday prayers by the Indian occupational forces at Jamia Masjid in occuped Srinagar locking the historic mosque on Friday.
Muzaffar expressed grave concern over the violation of international law and the right to freedom of religion in the the internationally acknowledged disputed state currently in India’s forced and unlawful occupation, says a message reaching and released to the media here on Saturday.
In a statement issued from Dallas Fortworth Texas on Saturday Muzaffar also member of Amnesty International USA chapter and member board of directors of South Asia Democracy Watch, Unied States, emphasized that preventing individuals from practicing their religious beliefs and attending congregational prayers was unacceptable and these unlawful actions of the Indian occupational forces were against the basic human rights of the people of Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, he added.
The coward action to lock the main gates of the mosque disallowing the Jumma tul wida (last Friday of the holy month of Ramadan ul Mubarak prayers was a clear infringement on the rights of the Kashmiri Muslim by the Indian occupying forces, Muzaffar said.
Muzaffar called upon the Indian government to immediately lift these restrictions and allow the people of Occupied Jammu Kashmir state to exercise their right to freedom of religion without any interference.
He underlined that such immoral and unlawful actions serve to escalate tensions and further alienate the people of the disputed occupied territory of Jammu and Kashmir.
Muzaffar urged the international community to speak out against these continual violations of human rights by Indian government in IIOJK and hold those responsible accountable for their unlawful actions in the disputed territory. the message concluded.
