Muzaffarabad/MIRPUR ( AJK) (Parliament Times) : Prime Minister Ch. Anwarul Haq has said that the approval of the Social Protection Ordinance was an important milestone towards ending sense of deprivation amongst economically less-privileged sections of society in Azad Kashmir.
He expressed these views while addressing the Legislative Assembly Session shortly after the House approved the landmark Social Protection of Vulnerable Population Ordinance 2024.
Terming the legislative body as the biggest defender of the people’s fundamental rights, the PM said, ” If someone dared to tamper with the endowment fund, he will be taught a lesson”.
He said that the government has dealt every kind of mafias and their patrons with an iron hand. Protection of citizens’ life and their property, he said, was the government’s primary responsibility.
The PM also appreciated the role of the federal government and national security agencies for solving the problems of Azad Kashmir.
He said that nobody can point a finger at the government’s performance and credibility. The PM said that he won’t hesitate in taking action if someone proves any kind of irregularities in government spendings or corruption since the day he assumed the charge of the state.
He said that E-tendering has been instrumental in saving more than 3 billion rupees. “Have surrendered 110 posts of Prime Minister’s Secretariat”, he said, adding that it was for the first time that half of the budget of the Prime Minister’s Secretariat has been surrendered.
The Prime Minister said that the government won’t allow anyone whosoever to challenge the writ of the state or take the law into their hands.
The PM said that holding peaceful protest was no doubt everyone’s right, but if there was any attempt to disrupt the peace, the AJK police was sufficient enough to deal with it.
The Prime Minister made it clear that FC has been deployed to protect the foreigners posted in different areas.
Muzaffarabad: Prime Minister Chaudhry Anwar ul Haq on Friday visited the CMH to inquire about the health of machine operator who was airlifted to the hospital for treatment after getting seriously injured while conducting landslide clearance operation in Neelum valley area.
The Prime Minister Haq inquired about the health of the injured driver and expressed his best wishes and speedy recovery.
The PM was accompanied by senior minister Col. retired Waqar Ahmad Noor, minister for Communications and Public Works Chaudhry Azhar Sadiq.
