MIRPUR ( AJK), (Parliament Times) : Kashmir–born Barrister Raja Azar Iqbal, an AJK national hailing from Mirpur has been appointed as Judge by the Lord Chancellor of the United Kingdom. He has assumed his office Thursday.
Barrister Raja Azar Iqbal belongs to village Boa Kalan Mirpur, AJK. He is the first Kashmiri from the region to have been appointed as Judge in the UK Judiciary by the Lord Chancellor. Being Judge he will exercise his functional jurisdiction over entire England.
Before his new appointment, Barrister Raja Azar Iqbal was also Chairman of Muslim Conference England branch besides his professional duties as a seasoned jurist
