ATTOCK : Food safety team of Punjab Food Authority Attock has discarded huge quantity of expired , substandard and adulterated food items besides imposing fine worth of rupees lacs to the food outlets in tehsil Pindigheb and Fatehjang. A spokeman of Punjab Food Authority Attock told media that the food safety teams were on their routine testing and checking in the shopping centres of the tehsil Pindigheb and Fatehang to ensure provision of hygienic and qualitative food stuffs to the consumers when they seized 281 litres of substandard cold drinks, 37 liters milk, 24 liters rancid oil, 05 kg sweats which were injurious to public health. The owners of the outlets were also imposed fine under Punjab Food Authority Act with the stern direction to maintain their standard as per SOPs of the Punjab Food Authority failing which further legal proceeding will also be initiated against them, accordingly, Spokesman added.
