Islamabad,  (Parliament Times) : National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA), the country’s sole regulator, under the theme “Power with Equality” celebrated International Women’s Day to honor and acknowledge the services and achievements of its women’s workforce. A graceful ceremony was held at NEPRA Headquarters, Islamabad which was attended by Chairman NEPRA, Mr. Tauseef H. Farooqi, female employees from private sector organizations, NEPRA female employees and NEPRA HODs. The event was graced by Ms. Rahat Konain, Chairperson of the Competition Commission of Pakistan as Chief Guest and Mrs. Erum Farooqui as Guest of Honor. The event was addressed by:

• Dr. Mariam Mohsin from PIDE who shed light on dynamics of gender in workforce and access to technology
• Dr. Zunaira Jalil from Air University who highlighted the importance of cyber security and initiatives on access to cyber security education
• Ms. Rahat Konain who shared her experiences and her outlook of the gender disparity in workforce and economic empowerment
• Mrs. Erum Farooqui, Spouse of Chairman NEPRA who emphasized on the importance and role of women in all walks of life
• Ms. Amna Malik from COPAIR highlighted the need for vocational training to improve the access to technology

The speakers also appreciated the contributions and dynamic role of NEPRA women and encouraged them to contribute heroically in the sustainable future of the power sector.
