ISLAMABAD:   NEPRA has accorded approval to scale down power tariff of K-Electric by Rs 7.43 per unit for one month and this reduction in the tariff will afford relief amounting to Rs 19.61 billion to consumers.

NEPRA completed the hearing of the petition pertaining to adjustment of fuel adjustment surcharge for the month of November. The detailed decision will be announced later on.

The hearing took place under chairman NEPRA Tausif H Farooqi in respect of petition pertaining to FAS for the month of November.

The authorities told the NEPRA the production cost of the electricity out of K-Electric own sources remained Rs 27.13 per unit.

Chairman NEPRA remarked if the federation does not provide electricity to K-Electric they will stand crushed.

NEPRA also sought plan from K-Electric with reference to reduction in cost of production of electricity. K-Electric was directed to provide plan within a week.
