Lahore: University of Health Sciences Vice Chancellor Professor Dr. Ahsan Waheed Rathore and Prime University of Nursing, Science and Technology Rector Dr. Khalid Khan called on Governor Punjab Muhammad Balighur Rehman at Governor House Lahore today. During the meeting with Vice Chancellor UHS, it was discussed to revise the curriculum of medical colleges as per modern requirements.

Speaking on this occasion, Governor Punjab Muhammad Balighur Rehman said that the young generation is the valuable asset of the country and the nation. He stressed that teachers in medical universities should not only make them the best doctors but good human beings as well. He said that our doctors should be the manifestation of the highest moral values. He said that the present government is trying to promote technology in universities according to modern requirements.

Governor Punjab said that work is being done to create various consortiums including environment, moral training, women’s education, development of technical and scientific research in the universities. He said the purpose of the said consortia is to create a mechanism for solving various problems with academic discussion. He said that the consortiums will give recommendations to the government departments based on the research and experience of the experts in the universities. He further said that there should be strong links between the academia and the industry in the universities. This will not only create job opportunities for the youth but industry will also benefit from the research done in the universities.
