LAHORE: Pakistan Jamhoori League has rejected the government’s NAB amendments, saying that the PML-N and its allies are planning to run the NAB by remote control, which would be a common killer of accountability in the country, and we will use all the options against it, including going to court. Unless there is transparent and impartial accountability in the country, it will not be possible to save the country from the cancer of corruption.Rana Zaman Saeed, Chairman of Pakistan Jamhoori League, while talking to delegations coming from different districts along with Secretary General Sohail Ahmed and party members Zahid Gondal and others, said that the there is no precedence of inflation in the current government but instead of reducing government expenditure, the rulers are visiting Turkey and other countries with a 54-member delegation. The rulers should spend on these visits from their own pockets instead of from the national treasury so that the country can be saved from further economic catastrophe. He said that the cases are going on in the courts against the majority of the leaders of the present government and now they were also planning to strangle NAB for which amendments have been made in NAB rules which we all reject. We will protest against it and we will try to use other options including the constitution to force the rulers to withdraw the amendments made against NAB and instead of protecting the thieves and robbers in the country, there should be cases against them and they should be a symbol of disgrace for everyone.Rana Zaman Saeed said that till the end of tax evasion in Pakistan, the elimination of other problems including inflation and unemployment in the country will remain a dream, and for the poor who already do not have even two meals a day, life will be more difficult for them.
