MIRPUR (AJK), (Parliament Times) :After a two-day pause of rising scorching hit, AJK’s lake city of Mirpur lashed with heavy thunder, hailstorm coupled with devastating rain storms Friday partially paralysing the daily life.
Heavy hailstorm, followed by speedy thunderstorm showered with torrential downpour at the advent of summer turning the weather much pleasent.
Life paralysed in various upper reaches of AJK especially in top mountainous scenic Leepa and Neelam vallies following land slidings caused by melting of snow at the higher reaches of the scenic vallies besides heavy downpour in down parts of the state.
Mirpur lashed with the unexpectrd heavy downpour since wee hours Fridat coupled with wind heavy hail storm affecting the electricity, roads and telecommunication system in various areas of the district.
There are also reports of perishing of the seasonal crops of trees and electricity poles at several kacha places in the division because of the wind storm. Telecom and electricity system was particularly affected in Mirpur city Friday morning as a result of the rainfall which continued whole the day on Friday with pause.
The heavy rainfall turned the weather much pleasent.
Kacha houses were also badly affected in various areas including slums which are also considered to be the most affected residential abodes because of the heavy downpour which was continued in various other parts of AJK.
More rains are expected to continue during next 24 hours, according to the forecast by Met. office
