Islamabad, (Parliament Times) : President Azad Jammu and Kashmir Barrister Sultan Mehmood Chaudhry has said that the AJK offers huge investment opportunities for investors in hydropower generation, mining and tourism sector.The AJK President said this while addressing a function organized by Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and Industries here today. Chairman Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and Industries Khalid Iqbal Malik, President Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and Industries Shakeel Munir and other speakers also addressed the function.Speaking on the occasion, Barrister Sultan Mehmood Chaudhary invited the local and foreign investors to invest in Azad Kashmir and assured them that the PTI government would provide all out support, assistance and facilities in this regard.He also hailed the Kashmiri expatriate community settled in different countries. “Our expatriate community living in the USA, UK, Middle East, and other countries are playing important role in the development and economy of the country by sending huge amounts of foreign exchange to Pakistan”, he said.Azad Kashmir, he said, is also ready to play its role in improving Pakistan’s development and economic situation. Terming a strong and stable Pakistan as a guarantor of Kashmiris’ freedom, the President said, “Kashmiris have always cherished for a strong and economically vibrant Pakistan as we believe that a strong and stable Pakistan is the guarantor of Kashmiris’ freedom”, he said.Referring to the abysmal situation in the Indian held territory of Jammu and Kashmir, the president said that India after stripping the region of its special status was now hell bent on snatching Kashmiris’ right to life. He said that the BJP government was using its repressive state apparatus and kangaroo courts to punish Kashmiri leader Muhammad Yasin Malik.Denouncing the conviction of the JKLF chairman by the Indian court, he said, it was quite unfortunate that the Indian court has denied him the right to fair trial.Urging international community to take effective notice of judicial onslaught against Yasim Malik and other Hurriyat leaders, he said it was high time that the global community, particularly the UN should play its role in immediate release of Yasin Malik and other leaders who have been languishing in Indian jails.He thanked the Islamabad Chamber of Commerce for passing a resolution condemning the conviction of Yasin Malik.Barrister Sultan Mehmood Chaudhry said that India on one hand was busy hatching conspiracies to change the region’s demographics, while on the other Modi regime has redrawn the electoral map of Kashmir to bring a Hindu Chief Minister in Occupied Kashmir.At the end of the ceremony, President Islamabad Chamber of Commerce Shakeel Munir presented a memorable shield to President Azad Jammu and Kashmir Barrister Sultan Mehmood Chaudhry.
