ISLAMABAD:  Virtual talks between Pakistan and International Monetary Fund (IMF) have ended inconclusive as global lender has raised objections over granting tax amnesty and curtailment of prices of petrol, diesel and electricity by Pakistan government. .

The virtual talks on the matter of acquiring next tranche of 960 million dollars loan from IMF will take place on next Monday.

As per media reports review talks between Pakistan and IMF are underway since the last week. During the talks IMF has voiced its reservations over granting tax amnesty to industrial sector and scaling down prices of petrol, diesel and electricity under Prime Minister’s (PM) relief package.

Policy level talks with IMF will follow the technical level talks. In the event of successful talks, loan of 960 million dollars will be provided to Pakistan. On the other hand Pakistan has obtained 50 percent of IMF approved 6 billion dollars loan.
