Pakistan is one of the counties where cases of using drugs are increasing rapidly. The picture shows very sorry condition of drug use in Pakistan as 7.6 million people in country are addicted to different drugs of them 78% are male while 22% are female. This grim scenario presents that the most youth of Pakistan is addicted in drugs as compared to the elders. It would be no surprise to know that the students of colleges and universities are also the victim of drug use. Around forty thousand youth as per the reports of UN increase every year in Pakistan using different drugs due to certain reasons. The most glaring causes of drug use in Pakistan are: family background, stress, study pressure, unemployment, poverty and expectations. Students of colleges and universities have easy access to drugs through different agents and fortunately, there is no reach of any armed force as well. This is also the fact that numbers are increasing at rapid ration every year. These accesses must be nipped in the bud else the results will be different. Apart from this, counseling sessions should be held at colleges and universities to aware the students about the consequences of drug use. Law enforcement agencies should take timely actions against the facilitator of drugs. Moreover, parents need to play their key role in nurturing their child. In this way, numbers can be decreased which are very deploring now.
