ISLAM GHARH, (Parliament Times) :The Azad Jammu and Kashmir President Barrister Sultan Mehamood Choudhary has said that we will eradicate corruption from Mirpur and vowed that corrupt elements will be held accountable.
He expressed these views while addressing the oath taking ceremony of Chinar Press Club Islam Ghar here on Monday. He said
India has been occupying the occupied state of Jammu and Kashmir for the last 75 years and now by amending Articles 370 and 35A of the Indian Constitution on August 5, 2019 india is engaged to change the demography of the state and has issued fake state domiciles to 4.2 million Indians to crush the freedom movement launched by the people of occupied Kashmir for attaining their fundamental right to self determination. He said it is now our responsibility to collectively move forward to foil the nefarious intentions of the Indian rulers. He said in view of the grave situation obtaining in occupied Kashmir, I convened a successful Kashmir Conference as the President of the Base Camp in which the leaders of all the political parties of Azad Kashmir participated. He said in this connection a Kashmir rally will be taken out from Islamabad Press Club to D-Chowk on24th February to highlight the Kashmir issue . He said during the UNO General Council meeting, all political leaders of Azad Kashmir will hold demonstrations in New York to draw the world’s attention towards gruesome human rights violations committed by the brute Indian forces and systematic killings of Kashmiri to suppress the freedom movement. The President said that Kashmir Conferences will be held in London, European Union, Brussels and other countries to draw the world’s attention towards the unresolved Kashmir dispute . The President said that the media is the most powerful weapon therefore I have set up a Press Foundation for the welfare of journalists in Azad Kashmir and assured that the government will take all possible steps for the welfare and development of media. He said The people of Mirpur have made great sacrifices for the economic development of Pakistan and the resettlement of additional families of the affected Mangladam is being ensured.
He said Construction work of Rathoa Haryam Bridge will start soon.
The ceremony was presided over by British Lord Mayor Leeds Councilor Asghar Khan Qureshi while British MP Raja Muhammad Yasin, Director General Information Raja Azhar Iqbal Khan, DG MDA Chaudhry Muhammad Mansha Naqshbandi, Former Candidates Muhammad Nazir Inqalabi, Chaudhry Azeem Bakhsh, Sai Zulfiqar, Chaudhry Khaliq-ul-Zaman, Col (retd) Maroof Khan, Chaudhry Javed Iqbal, Chaudhry Muhammad Arif, Azad Jammu Central President of Kashmir and Union Union of Journalists Zafir Baba, President Press Club Chaudhry Amjad, District President of CUJ Raja Ilyas, Patron General Abdul Razzaq Niazi and former President Irfan Sadiq addressed the function. Earlier, the President of Azad Kashmir administered oath to the newly elected officials of Chinar Press Club Islamgarh and congratulated the new and old bodies and expressed the hope that they would play their full role in highlighting the Kashmir issue. The President of Azad Jammu and Kashmir Barrister Sultan Mehmood Chaudhry said that he would legislate in the Azad Kashmir Assembly for the protection of journalists and would strengthen the Press Foundation.. He said that our forefathers sacrificed their graves for the construction of Mangladam. The people of Mirpur, especially the Overseas Kashmiris, have kept the Kashmir issue alive at the international level and have also been playing a vital role in the economy of the state by sending a lot of foreign exchange. He said that since the Kashmir Million March held at the international level, the ugly face of India and secularism has been exposed in the world and the voices against Modi have started rising from within India. Muslim student Muskan has raised the slogan of Allah Akbar and told the world how India is committing serious human rights violations. He said that another Kashmir Conference would be held soon in which political parties of Azad Kashmir, Hurriyat leadership and Overseas Kashmiri leadership would be invited. The President of Azad Kashmir said that I am the only leader of Azad Kashmir and Pakistan who gave a briefing on Kashmir issue before 42 members of British Parliament and also raised the issue of Kashmir in the forum of All Parties Kashmir Committee. The President of Azad Kashmir said that India has committed atrocities in the occupied Kashmir and women are being raped and Innocent people are being martyred. The President called for launching an effective movement against India for the liberation of occupied Kashmir
