Growing issue of food wastage has deeply pressurized about importance of meal. Food wastage doesn’t limite at social and economical problems but also contributes in humanitarian and environmental dilemmas. There are several causes behind food discarding, lack of appropriate planning, purchase and preparation of too much food, errors in industrial processing and keeping up without safety policies and over preparation of food in restaurants, hotels and food service industries. Every year around 7.6 billion tonnes of food is wasted, this waste equals 312 kg per person on Earth. China ranks 1st in globle food discarding, estimated about 91.6 million tonnes annually, food is served in trash. India claims rank 2nd , around 68.8 million tonnes food is withered. United States ranks 3rd over all in globle index. While, Pakistan trashes 36 million tonnes food annually. A corner of the world, where , humans persistently suffer through dearth of water and food resources, have been compelled to utilize mud as their daily meal. People face undernutrition like diseases because an adequate amount of food which might be consumed by someone, was thrown in to trash. Many developed countries have adopted various measures to tackle the overgrowing and concerning tragedy. To combat with food wastage issue, in Australia, consumer education, investment in water treatment infrastructure, waste diversion from the retail and commercial section are under action. Government of Pakistan should wakeup in this regard. Restriction of fancy meal on weddings, awareness program with regard to both food wastage and vulnerable households, smart purchasing by consumers and recycling of regulations will surely result synergetic. Humanity dies from hunger, barely is not now, then, it might be late afterwards. A man should be enough vigilant about his neighbor before through food into him.
