Jehlum Valley: People of Kashmir staged protest procession and sit-in to seek world conscience attention on occasion of International Human Rights Day.

A large number of people rallied from Muzaffarabad and outskirts of Chinari and Chakothi.

The road connecting Muzaffarabad to Srinagar was observed with masses chanting slogans against gross human rights violation in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJ&K).

Speakers on the occasion has said that India has turned the entire state into a prison where millions of people have been forced to live in fear of death while many of them are living miserable lives in Indian prisons.

They stated that Indian state terrorism in IIOJ&K could be a threat to peace in South Asia.

Speakers voiced that people in IIOJ&K are facing Indian atrocities at every nook and corner, “there are several reports of HR violations and many of them have been submitted to prestigious International Human Rights organizations but no any action has been taken till date.”

People in the rally appealed the United Nations to take strong measures to fulfill the promise of right to self-determination to the people of Jammu and Kashmir.

Moreover, they demanded that OIC, Amnesty International, Asia Watch and all other human rights organizations to play their role in preventing India from HR violations in IIOJ&K.

Chairman Pasban-e-Hurriyat Uzair Ahmad Ghazali, Usman Ali Hashim and many other citizens were also present on the occasion.
