ISLAMABAD,    (Parliament Times) : At a ceremony held at OPF Head Office Islamabad on Thursday, 9th September, 2021, Overseas Pakistanis Foundation (OPF) has distributed scholarship cheques to the children of Overseas Pakistanis, under its scholarship program, Overseas Pakistanis Education Fund.

Last year, OPF had distributed scholarships amounting to Rs. 12.6 Million among children of Overseas Pakistanis, whereas, this year OPF has distributed an amount of Rs. 13.9 Million under its scholarship program. The objective of OPF Scholarships is to provide financial assistance to the talented and needy children of Overseas Pakistanis studying within Pakistan in order to help them pursue quality education and fulfill their dreams.

Addressing the scholarship cheque distribution ceremony, Mr. Ishrat Ali, Federal Secretary, Ministry of Overseas Pakistanis & HRD, appreciated the role of Overseas Pakistanis’ and encouraged them to take full advantage of this opportunity devoting themselves to their studies, wholeheartedly.

Speaking on the occasion, Managing Director (OPF), Dr. Amer Sheikh said that Overseas Pakistanis Foundation is playing a major role in providing quality education to the children of overseas Pakistanis. He said that in order to cater to the educational needs of the children of overseas Pakistanis, OPF has established twenty-six (26) educational institutions across Pakistan, including AJ&K, which are providing quality education from pre-nursery to intermediate level to the children of Overseas Pakistanis and general public. The Managing Director, OPF, added that besides the scholarship program, OPF has also granted 50% discount in tuition fee to children of Overseas Pakistanis studying at OPF Educational Institutions.

While congratulating, the scholarship recipients, Managing Director, OPF, urged the talented children of Overseas Pakistani keep valuing the sacrifices of their overseas Pakistani parents who are working abroad for their better future and wellbeing, and excel in their studies to make their parents proud.
