Muzaffarabad,(Parliament Times):  Major operation by Accountability Bureau Azad Kashmir. Additional Commissioner Capt (retd) Abrar Azam (Assistant Commissioner DDO Waqt Hatia) and Retired Assistant Commissioner Saleem Akhtar Awan involved in the mega scandal case worth more than Rs 4.5 crore were arrested by the Accountability Bureau’s investigation team today. Arrested on revocation of interim bail by the court, transferred to Safe House Muzaffarabad Theory.

The officers are accused of withdrawing their appointment as Assistant Commissioner as DDO Collector and withdrawing millions of rupees from the accountant of about 15 land acquisition schemes, most of which are schools, through about 20 checks. The forensic lab has also validated the signatures of the officers on the checks. Other accused involved in the case, including Assistant Commissioner’s Office clerks Imtiaz and Tariq Riaz, who are already in jail, are in the Reference Accountability Court against the bank employees. As soon as Chairman Accountability Bureau Sardar Naeem Ahmed Shiraz was appointed, instructions were given to complete immediate investigation against the DDOs involved in the case against whom investigation was pending. The investigation team has completed the investigation and arrested the accused. Apart from the recovery of money looted by the accused during the arrest, more important revelations are expected. According to sources, more major arrests are expected by the Accountability Bureau in the next few days.
