LAHORE:   As many as 5364 persons tested positive and 110 fatalities occurred due to corona virus in Pakistan during 24 hours Friday.

The nationwide casualties have climbed to 15982 while number of positive cases have surged to 745182 in the country. This has been said in the latest National Command and Operation Center (NCOC) statistics.
Punjab remains the worst-hit province by the pandemic in terms of deaths followed by Sindh, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan. Most numbers of cases have been reported in Sindh.
Till now 270,963 coronavirus cases have been confirmed in Sindh, 261,173 in Punjab, 103,419 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 20,662 in Balochistan, 68,665 in Islamabad, 15,137 in Azad Kashmir and 5,163 in Gilgit-Baltistan.

Furthermore, 7,271 individuals have lost their lives to the epidemic in Punjab, 4,541 in Sindh, 2,796 in KP, 222 in Balochistan, 626 in Islamabad, 423 in Azad Kashmir and 103 in GB.
Pakistan has so far conducted 11,007,252 coronavirus tests and 64,481 in the last 24 hours. 650,775 coronavirus patients have recovered in the country whereas 4,302 patients are in critical condition.

All prayer leaders to pray for forgiveness after Jummah prayers as the country continues to battle the third wave of the coronavirus.
“Tauba o astaghfar ke zariye corona se nijaat [seeking Allah’s forgiveness to rid the world of the coronavirus pandemic]” is being observed by the country today (Friday).
The Ministry of Religious Affairs and Interfaith Harmony said, in a notification dated April 12, that the day will be observed on the first Friday of Ramazan 2021.
The prayer leaders have been instructed to ensure the implementation of COVID-19 SOPs.

According to media reports earlier Chinese Ambassador Nong Rong during his meeting with Prime Minister Imran Khan said that China will do its utmost to help Pakistan deal with the surge of COVID-19, including expeditious provision of vaccines.
Imran Khan on the occasion said Pakistan is currently facing third wave of COVID-19 and the government is taking necessary measures to combat it and has devised an elaborate plan of vaccination across the country.
In addition to this, the Prime Minister underscored the transformational significance of China Pakistan Economic Corridor and reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to expeditiously complete CPEC projects.
Imran Khan underlined that Pakistan is keen to learn from China’s experience of poverty alleviation as well as development.
Moreover Imran Khan added that the people of Pakistan look forward to welcoming President Xi Jinping to Pakistan at the earliest convenience.
