MIRPUR (AJK), (Parliament Times) : Rich tributes were paid to the departed legendary Senior Police Officer of Azad Jammu & Kashmir, (late) Sardar Muhammad Illayas, Deputy Inspector General Police Mirpur Range at a condolence reference hosted by the acting DIG Police / SSP Mirpur Raja Irfan Saleem here on Wednesday for his lifetime meritorious services as a seasoned Police Officer with full dedication, commitment and high professional skills and abilities.
Sardar Khaleeq-uz-Zaman Advocate, the elder brother of late DIG Police Sardar Illayas Khan chaired the ceremony which was largelly attended by senior officials of the judiciary, Divisional and district Administration, serving and retired Police officers and the city elite representing all segments of the civil society.from Mirpur and various other parts of AJK.
DIG Police Sardar Illayas Khan (52) had died of cardiac arrest here, a couple of weeks ago.

Muhammad Amin, PTI AJK Central leader Chairman Jinnah Foundation AJK Dr. Amin Ch., ex-City Mayor and Governmental Advisor Ch. M. Ashraf, Ch. Zafar Anwar of PTI, Ch. Sohaib Saeed of PML-N, Senior Kashmiri Journalist Altaf Hamid Rao, Members of AJK Supreme Court Bar Association Mrs. Nabeela Ayub Advocate, Kamran Tariq Advocate, Sardar Aijaz Nazir Advocate, Riaz Alam Advocate, President DBA Mirpur Mirza Qamar, Presidents of their respective factions of central traders organizations including Asif Dar, Raja Khalid Mahmood Khan, and Ch. Mahmood, Muslim Conference Leader Shakoor Mughal, President CUJ AJK Muhammad Zafeer Baba, Babar Mangwal and others said that late DIG Sardar Illayas will always be remembered for his services to the people of Azad Jammu & Kashmir being a seasoned and honest Police Officer for the safety of their lives and properties besides maintaining law and order situation during his entire service till his demise in various parts of AJK.
They said that he will always be missed by the communities. AJK state in general and the Police Department, in particular, have lost a great human being merit and justice-loving, honest, characterful and dutiful Police Officer, who lend entire of his life as the most honest custodian of law and order and safety of the masses besides for the due rights of the subordinate employees of the State Police Department.
Speakers said that entire AJK, especially the Police Department was mourned of his demise.
Addressing the ceremony, acting DIG Police Mirpur Range / SSP Raja Irfan Saleem said that (late) DIG Sardar Illayas Khan always showed his high professional skills and intellect while dealing with any of the odd situation confronted by the Police for maintaining peace and order combatting the crimes in all three districts of Mirpur Division, including Mirpur, Kotli and Bhimber districts and any of other affairs related to the Police in the division being a dynamic, vibrant and honest Divisional Head of the AJK Police.
Irfan said that the gap caused due to the demise of the legendary Police Officer could not be filled for a long time in the future.
Participants of the condolence reference on this occasion prayed for the rest of the departed soul in eternal peace and grant of fortitude to the bereaved family, Police Department employees, relatives and friends to bear the great loss with courage. Ends.
