Brussels, (PR) : Kashmir Council Europe (KC-EU) will hold an online international conference Today (Thursday, 4th February, 2021) at the eve of the Kashmir’s Solidarity Day.

The conference titled as “Giving Kashmir a Voice: The Importance of Solidarity” is being arranged from 17:00 hours to 18:30 hours (from 9 pm to 10:30 pm – Pak’s time) today’s evening a day before the Kashmir Solidarity Day.

People from different walks of life and various segments of the different international societies and different countries including European and Kashmiri experts, intellectuals and analysts and journalists will participate in the conference.

The speakers of the conference would be Member of the UK Parliament AFZAL KHAN, Former Pakistani Minister for Information SHERRY REHMAN, Chairman of the Senate’s Foreign Affairs Standing Committee MUSHAHID HUSSAIN SYED, Senior Minister of AJK TARIQ FAROOQ, Former Member of the Brussels Parliament DANIELLE CARON , Noted Pakistani Journalist, Columnist, and Author HAMID MIR, President of People’s Party Azad Jammu and Kashmir CH LATIF AKBAR, Human Rights activist from Germany RIFFAT WANI, President of AZAD Jammu and Kashmir Supreme Court Bar Association FAROOQ MINHAS, Writer, Social Anthropologist and Journalist ZAIGHAM KHAN, Political Psychologist and Human Rights activist from The Netherlands MARJAN LUCAS, Representative of Kashmiri Youth UK IFRAH BUKHARI, Representative of Kashmiri students in UK Sardar Suliman Khan, Former Ambassador of the European Union ANTHONY CRASNER, Senior journalist and columnist from Hungary dealing with EU Affairs MIKULAS KRIVANSKY and Senior Journalist from Hungary dealing with EU Affairs ENDRE BARCS.

According to Chairman of KC-EU Mr Ali Raza Syed, the meeting is aimed at discussing the ways in which Kashmiri people can be given a voice at the global forums. There will be an ample opportunity exchanges of views on the international solidarity with Kashmiris particularly people facing hardships in the occupied Kashmir.

In a statement on the occasion he said, history has shown time and again that force cannot be used to permanently subdue people. The only course of action is respect wishes of the Kashmiris, let them to speak and listen to their voices. He added, India must pursue dialogue and negotiation for a durable solution of problem of Jammu and Kashmir, and for restoration of peace and prosperity in the region.

Chairman’s KC-EU Ali Raza Syed said, as the world is facing lockdown due to covid 19 for approximately one year but Kashmiris were already facing a strict military lockdown for last seven decades and their miseries have been increased in the crises of the corona virus. Therefore, they need more solidarity from other parts of the world
