Rawalpindi,   (Parliament Times) : The agency for the protection of the rights and jobs of Pakistanis abroad Knight Human Management (KHM) Shalan Pakistan, in collaboration with Mastermind Audits, Accounts and Taxation and School of Arts and Design, has provided such training facilities of latest technical skills to youth which are the guarantee of decent and safe jobs within the country as well as in international job market.

These views were expressed by the Chief Executive Officer of KHM Mr. Khalid Nawaz while addressing as chief guest to a conference on the subject of “Technical Education — Need of the World Job Market” held here on Sunday under the auspices of School of Arts and Design. A number of professional trainers, lawyers and instructors were present on the occasion.

“To eradicate poverty and unemployment from the country, KHM is actively playing its role in national reconstruction by finding suitable, reasonable and secure employment opportunities for Pakistani skilled and un-skilled labor in the global job market”, he remarked. Khalid Nawaz was of the view that new and latest technologies were emerging very fast and whole world was shifting to technological driven education. We, too, need to spread training facilities to make our youth skillful in the latest technologies if we want to rise to the occasion. He said our youth was yet to understand the importance of technical education which has grasped the almost all fields of life including trade, industry, agriculture, medical, tourism, fashion and even retail. “No any sector in the whole world hire a single employee until and unless he/she have not attained certain amount of skills”, he added.

He said we are in the dire and extreme need to work on our technical and vocational education sector. “There are only 3798 technical training institutes in Pakistan having capacity to train barely half a million students annually while an annual increase in youth unemployment is estimated at 1.5 million”, he mentioned. Khalid further stated that new state-of-the-art TVET institutes were in great need all over the country in urban as well as in rural areas. He also pointed out some problems including dearth of government funding for TVET institutes, very low participation of women, shortage of good trainers, hindering and obstacles on the part of government in establishing private TVET institutes and asked the authorities concerned to address these problems.

Other speakers said that by upgrading and establishing new TVET institutes, we can transform our youth into a skilled workforce within two to three years’ time space who will not only help in eliminating unemployment by getting decent jobs at home and abroad but they will also be helpful to strengthen country’s economy. They demanded the government of taking steps forward in this behalf and it should encourage private sector to invest in this direction which could change the destiny of the country within three to four years
