Lahore,(Parliament Times): Noted Kashmiri human rights activist and Chairman, Jammu and Kashmir Human Rights Commission Humayun Zaman Mirza has been awarded Quaid-e-Azam (Gold) Medal in recognition of his services for Kashmir cause and human rights. The award was presented to him by Vice Chancellor of Government College University Lahore, Prof. Dr. Asghar Zaidi during a prestigious Ceremony held at Majeed Nizami Auditorium Hall Lahore.

Earlier, the International Human Rights Observer, a member of the United Nations, had awarded Humayun Zaman Mirza with gold medal and certificate of appreciation in recognition of his human rights and political struggle. It may be recalled that Humayun Zaman Mirza has received numerous awards / gol medals / certificates of appreciation in recognition of his services in Azad Jammu and Kashmir, Pakistan and abroad.

Mirza is the son of renowned Kashmiri intellectual, historian and author of 32 books late Prof. Khan Zaman Mirza.
