Brussels( Daily Parliament Times/ Rasheed Ahmed)Chairman Kashmir Council Europe (KC-EU) welcomed Prime Minister Imran Khan’s stance on issue of Kashmir during his virtual address to the General Assembly of United Nation on Friday.

It is important to mention that in his online address to the General Assembly, Prime Minister of Pakistan Imran Khan declared that India is illegally occupying the Kashmir for above seven decades. The Prime Minister added that through military lockdown and other tactics, India attempts to press the right of self determination of people of Jammu and Kashmir and change demography of the region of Jammu and Kashmir.

In his statement Ali Raza Syed said, although Imran Khan’s stance in his speech proves that he gives an importance to the issue of Kashmir but there is a need of practical steps on the long-lasting issue. Kashmiris look over Pakistan and Pakistan should take the issue seriously and move forward effectively.

Pakistan should send special diplomatic missions to foreign countries in order to build a wider pressure on India involved in crimes against the humanity in occupied Kashmir.

There is a need of a comprehensive move on Kashmir issue for convincing the international community to strongly ask India to stop abuses of human rights in the occupied Kashmir. Specially the cases of extra judicial killings and other crimes against the humanity in theoccupied Kashmir should be raised at international courts.

KC-EU’s chair asked the government of Pakistan to depute special envoy on Kashmir in order to raise the issue at international level effectively and gain international support and sympathy for the oppressed people of Kashmir.

He also demanded the major world powers to send their diplomatic representatives for evaluation of severe human right situation in the occupied Kashmir.

“Jammu and Kashmir has been an internationally acknowledged disputed territory and Kashmiris suffered due to the issue of Kashmir for last seven decades,” he emphasized.

He said that the people of Kashmir have offered matchless sacrifices for the resolution of Kashmir dispute and the use of brutal force by India cannot stop them from continuing the struggle to achieve the inalienable right to self-determination.

Ali Raza Syed said that the people of Kashmir are determined to continue their peaceful struggle for liberation of Kashmir till its logical end.

Ali Raza Syed said, there are resolutions of United Nation Security Council on the issue of Kashmir and there is a necessity of implementation of these resolutions.

Chairman Kashmir Council EU Chairman also asked that international community should play its role for prevention of violation of human rights in Indian occupied Kashmir in order a prepare appropriate ground for a peaceful resolution of issue of Kashmir.
