Rawalpindi: (Parliament Times) The Punjab government has set up a water purification authority to provide clean drinking water to the people under a comprehensive strategy for which Rs 2.5 billion have been allocated in the budget for the next financial year. In addition, the Punjab government has allocated a budget of about Rs. 5 billion for the implementation of water saving plans in various major cities, including Rawalpindi, from which wastewater treatment plants will be set up. This was revealed in the budget details for the new financial year. MPA Amjad Mehmood Chaudhry while commenting upon the revolutionary initiatives of the Punjab government under the leadership of Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar for the improvement of civic amenities and overall social welfare and development for the people. In his statement, he said that due to the historic development vision of the government, great traditions of public welfare have come to the fore. MPA Amjad Mahmood Chaudhry in his statement further said that education and health, agriculture ,Live stock and all other sectors of socio economic uplift got foremost attention of the government. The ongoing initiatives of the Punjab government for the development of a wide spread network of roads especially farm to market, development of modern irrigation resources will soon bear fruit and the people of the province will be acquainted with the bright era of modern development.
