QUETTA: (Parliament Times) Chief Minister Jam Kamal Khan has urged the protesting students to shun the agitational policy and approach the government directly to resolve all issues through dialogue.
While talking to a delegation of students who called on him here at his assembly chamber the other day, the Chief Minister said, “The government is ready to listen to students’ legitimate grievances and to solve their problems”. Terming students as the future of the nation the Chief Minister said that his government was well aware of the problems faced by the students. “We will not allow the precious time of students to be wasted and all possible options will be used to solve their problem”, he said adding that the provincial government would approach the higher education commission for the postponement of classes for a period of one month. Furthermore, he said that the government would provide emergency internet services to the students of remote areas in addition to granting them the provision of accommodation in hostels on a temporary basis. He told the visiting delegation that the government will also assist students in paying the fees for online classes.
The Chief Minister said that he would talk to the Federal Minister of Education to find a suitable way for the students of Balochistan. The final decision he said would be taken after due consultation with the students.
The student delegation apprised the Chief Minister of the problems faced by the students. Provincial Minister Mir Zahoor Baledi and Member Provincial Assembly Asghar Khan Achakzai were also present on the occasion.
