Muzaffarabad: President Pakistan Peoples Party Azad Jammu and Kashmir (PPP AJK) chapter Chaudhary Latif Akbar strongly condemned the incidents reported of women faced Dilemma at LOC in New York Times.

In a statement issued here on Sunday, he said that government of AJK should formulate a judicial inquiry commission besides taking all necessary measures to facilitate the masses living near Line of Control (LOC).

Latif Akbar maintained that there are thousands of families living along LOC in almost all areas of AJK, “they are our frontline warriors with armed forces and their safety should be at priority of incumbent government” he said.

He stated that instead of taking stern action on the report, government of AJK denied, which is itself concerning.

“If AJK government stance was true then the same newspaper might have published their statement” Akbar added.

He demanded to provide safety bunkers to all families living along LOC, keeping in view the vulnerability of the area.

He also demanded to start legal trials on two incidents reported in NY times.

New York Times published a news on 15th may about the women face sexual harassment when they take refuge in safety bunkers.
