QUETTA,(Parliament Times): Chief Minister Balochistan Jam Kamal Khan has said that development of tourism sector can play an important role to boost the economy of Baluchistan.

CM Kamal made these assertions while speaking at a review meeting of Ziarat Valley Development Project here on Monday. Additional Chief Secretary Planning and Development Abdul Rehman Bazdar was also present in the meeting.

Stressing the need for promoting tourism he said, “The beautiful and unique coastal areas and mountainous places of the province need to be introduced to the world as the best tourist destinations”. He said that a comprehensive policy has been formulated for the development of tourism sector. The Chief Minister directed that Ziarat Town should be developed in the style of Smart City to attract the tourists. He said that the projects including in the development package should be finalized and get them approved by the federal government as soon as possible so that the development funds could be released in time. Keeping in view the nature and importance of the projects, the CM said the federal government would be requested to increase the funds to Rs 2 billion. The Chief Minister also directed the authorities concerned to prepare building code for Ziarat, design of buildings along modern lines thereby using Fab-Technology.

The Project Director on the occasion gave a detailed briefing on the overall development of Ziarat Town, Master Plan, and development of tourist destinations and establishment of new centers. It is worth to mention here that the federal government has allocated Rs 1 billion while the provincial government has allocated Rs 250 million for the Ziarat development package.
