MIRPUR (AJK): With the appearance of 4 new cases of coronavirus registered during last 24 hours in Azad Jammu Kashmir, the number of confirmed corona-virus positive cases rose to 59 in the State on Sunday, AJK Health department said.
In a statement about the updated situation of pandemic in AJK, issued on Sunday, the State Health Authorities confirmed registration of four more new cases in Muzaffarabad, the district of Azad Jammu Kashmir.
At the same time 104 new suspects of corona virus were tested in AJK on Sunday, the official statement disclosed/
It may be added that two of the new victims tested positive have been identified as working journalists affiliated with a national private tv channel. Rest of two reportedly belonged to the health department of the State.
After emerging of four new case tested positive the tally rose to 59 on Sunday, AJK health authorities said.
35 of the Corona virus hit persons in AJK have so far been discharged. Those discharged included 04 from DHQ Hospital Rawalakot. 15 patients discharged from Bhimbher, 12 from New City Teaching hospital Mirpur, one from THQ Hospital Dadayal and 02 from DHQ Hospital Palandri following completely recovery. Thus a total of 24 suspects tested positive are under treatment at various AJK hospitals at present and moving to the recovery, the State health authorities said.
Updating the overall current COVID-19 so far situation in AJK, the Health Authorities continued in the daily updated statement that a total of 1692 suspected cases from entire Azad Jammu Kashmir were sent for test till Thursday – of whom the results of 1588 tests have reached.
Of these a total of 59 of the suspects were tested positive till Sunday – of whom 35 were discharged after complete recovery. All rest of 1529 suspects were tested negative.
Since a total of 35 out of a total 59 suspects were so far discharged after complete recovery, rest of 24 suspects tested positive across AJK were receiving treatment including 08 in CMH Rawalakot, 07 in DHQ Hospital Palanadri, 06 in Isolation Hospital Muzaffarabad and 02 admitted in THQ hospital Dadayal (Mirpur) and one in DHQ Hospital, the updated breakup of the so far situation of the deadly virus said.
Since 1529 of the COVID-19 suspects across AJK were tested negative so far and all of them were discharged after formal test under SOP set by the medical advisory by the authorities in AJK,
Results of the tests of only 104 suspects are awaited which are scheduled to reach in a day or two next.
AJK govt. has established 60 Quarantine centers at various locations in Azad Jammu Kashmir for dispensation of treatment to the pandemic affectees hailing from Azad Jammu Kashmir.
Mirpur Div. HQ Teaching Hospital, CMH Rawalakot and Urology Lab Abbas Institute of Medical Sciences Muzaffarabad are engaged in PCR Testing according to the schedule.
The State Health Department Staffers teams have been inducted at all exit / entry points leading to AJK for detailed required screening of the passengers pouring in to Azad Jammu Kashmir, according to the State Health authorities.
In case of the positive tests, all concerned are shifted to the nearest isolation center for Medicare, the state health authorities said .
