ISLAMABAD,(Parliament Times): As a part of museo-movement in Pakistan and in continuation of decision made in 5th All Pakistan Museums Conference regarding preparation of draft of National Policy on Museums in Pakistan, today Secretary General Museums Association of Pakistan MAP Mian Attique Ahmad had a meeting with Dr. Zahra Hussain, Director Lajvard and a cultural heritage management expert. She already prepared an initial draft of National Policy on Museums which was distributed during 5th APMC.
It was discussed and finalized the development on the national policy on Museums in Pakistan. Dr Zahra Hussain will lead the process of drafting process of drafting the policy and undertake a series of consultative workshops with stake holders including provincial governments and the federal government in March 2020 to device an inclusive and context based policy in the line with the UN SDGs and to bring Museums in Pakistan at par with international standards of knowledge sharing and community engagement.
The final draft will be submitted to the Federal Government for further approvals. The process of consultative workshops will be started in the month of March 2020.
