MUZAFFARABAD:   (Parliament Times)        The Azad Jammu and Kashmir government led by Prime Minister Raja Farooq Haider Khan has achieved great successes on financial, administrative, constitutional and development fronts in the last three years.

Under 13th Amendment in the Interim Constitution Act, 1974, administrative, financial and constitutional powers of Kashmir Council were handed over to the Azad Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly and government. Under the 12th Amendment, Qadyni were declared non-Muslims.

The PML-N government enhanced its share in the NFC to 40 percent after 26 years.
In this three year’ time, the development budget was enhanced from 11 billion to 25 billion. Moreover, establishment of Shariat Applet Benches in High Court, appointment of five new judges, establishment of family courts in 10 districts, appointment of 5000 teachers in education through NTS and 1800 Gazzetted officers through Public Service Commission are the major achievements of the government, the credit for which goes to the dynamic leadership of Prime Minister Raja Farooq Haider Khan.

Through is untiring efforts, Raja Farooq Haider Khan convinced Pakistan government to enhance Water Use Charges from 15 paisas to 1 rupee 10 paisas for Azad Jammu and Kashmir. Initiation of Emergency Services in all ten district headquarters hospitals, help to provide free treatment facilities to an average 60,000 patients per month. 1000 vacancies were created in health department while the strength of nurses was doubled from existing 280.

Under PM Community Infrastructure Program, projects of civic facilities were completed at a cost of 120 million rupees per constituency throughout the state. Roads connecting Azad Kashmir to Pakistan and inter district roads have been completed. Billions of rupees were spent on roads from Bhimber to Tao Butt to promote tourism in the State. To overcome line losses, old transmission lines were replaced with high power transmission lines besides installation of 2178 new transformers, 1250 kilometer High Transmission Lines, 10932 High Transmission Poles.

The government has provided interest free loans costing 750 million rupees to 21665 people including women. In addition, scholarships costing 750 million rupees is being provided to the talented students throughout the state.
