The rain water entered the houses in different parts of the city, damaging household items and other valuables and destroyed standing crops, fruit orchards and vegetables in different rural areas. The rainwater also flowed on roads as drains remained choked in low-lying areas.

“Heavy rain lashed the city and waterlogged many localities which led to clogging of many roads,” said the residents.

The rainwater entered shops and houses, especially in low-lying localities. Flooded roads due to garbage and polythene bags that stuck in drains, caused inconvenience to the pedestrians and motorists. Zhob has a creaky civic infrastructure, as the city’s drainage system failed to flush out the water that remained accumulated till late at night.

On the other hand, the rain turned weather pleasant in the city providing the residents much needed respite from the sizzling heat. The mercury, which increased to its climax during the hottest days of the season, came down after rainfall. Hundreds of youngsters following the rain thronged ‘Silyaza’ – a picnic point in the Eastern part of the city.
