Rawalpindi:  (Parliament Times)   JKLF on Saturday voiced serious concern over the plight of Kashmiris detainees languishing in different jails in and outside Jammu and Kashmir.

Seeking immediate release of Kashmiri prisoners the JKLF acting chairman Abdul Hamid Butt in a statement said, “There are thousands of Kashmiris are languishing in different jails and incarceration centers for holding particular political beliefs. These inmates are prisoners of conscience and international community needs to take steps for ensuring their safety and safe release from Indian jails”.

Terming the plight of Kashmiri prisoners as most undemocratic and tyrannical, JKLF acting chairman Abdul Hamid Butt said that so-called biggest democracy called India has put a blanket ban on every sort of political dissent and has jailed thousands of Kashmiris for upholding political belief that is contrary to that of Indian state. JKLF acting chairman said that holding a political belief and pursuing it peacefully and politically is a democratic right of every human but India is continuously denying this basic right to Kashmiris and has put the gates of jails and incarceration centers open on Kashmiris. He said that prisoners were that not only is JKLF chairman being kept in continued detention but JKLF zonal president Noor Muhammad Kalwal, leader Zahoor Ahmad Butt, zonal organizer Bashir Ahmad Kashmiri have been booked under PSA and are in jails from a long time. Another JKLF leader Sheikh Nazir Ahmad is also serving life sentence at Kot-Blawal jail. Similarly senior freedom leader Masarat Aalam Butt is in jails serving 36th PSA in a row while as Ameer-I-Jamat-I-Islami Hameed Fayaz, vice president of Jamiat Ahlihadees Moulana Mushtaq Ahmad Veeri, Moulana Sarjan Barkati are also languishing in jails from many months and years.

He said that in holy month of Ramadhan and at the eve of Eid like festivals, Inmates are freed from jails but in Kashmir jails are being filled with more and more inmates and blood is being spilled ruthlessly by anti-Muslim and anti-Kashmiri rulers without any remorse or shame. JKLF leader said that from last few days Kashmiri youth are being massacred at will and many civilians too have fallen preys to blood thirsty occupational forces, which in fact is a glaring example of the anti-Muslim attitude of these so-called rulers. Paying glowing tributes to all those who embraced martyrdom during last few days, JKLF spokesman said that this sacred blood and gallantry sacrifices will never go waste and that no stone will be left unturned for taking this sacred mission to its logical and desired goal. He said that Indian jails and jails of Jammu Kashmir are filled with innocent Kashmiris who have been detained under frivolous and concocted charges only because they hold a political view that is contrary to that of Indian rulers. He said that all these inmates including those put by NIA and ED in Tihar Jail including Muhammad Yasin Malik,Syed Shabir Ahmad Shah, Altaf Ahmad Shah, Shahid-ul-Islam ,Ayaz Akbar, Peer Saif-u-ullah, Raja Meraj-u-Din Kalwal, Nayeem Ahmed Khan, Farooq Ahmad Dar@ Bitta Karatay, businessmen Zahoor Ahmad Watali and Muhammad Aslam, Javid Ahmad and Shahid Yousuf Shah, Muzaffar Ahmad Dar along with ailing Syeda Asiya Andrabi, Fehmida Sofi and Nahida Nasreen are actually political prisoners held by so-called biggest democracy which is actually shameful and a black stain on real democracy and human norms.

He said that there are many others including Lifers; Doctor Qasim Faktoo, Doctor Shafi Shariati, Ghulam Qadir Butt, Nazir Ahmad Sheikh, Showkat Ahmad Khan, Abdul Gani Goni, Lateef Ahmad Waja, Javed Ahmad Khan, Mehmood Topi Wala, Nisar Mirza, Feroz Ahmad, Parvaiz Ahmad, Muhammad Ayoub Dar, Muhammad Ayoub Mir, Ali Muhammad Butt, Sheikh Imran , Noushad Ali , Farooq ahmad Sheikh, Ghulam Nabi Najar, Abdul Waheed Malik, Ghulam Muhammad Butt, Muhammad Abbas , Barkat Ali Khan and one sentenced to death in Bangal namely Muzafar Ahmad Rather, young boys booked in DSP lynching case Inmates of DSP lynching including Aadil Siraj Misgar, Davood Fayaz Zargar, Juwaiz Hassan Khan, Arooj Aafaq Bhat, Iqbal Ahmad Khan, Arsalan Mushtaq Bangri , Seerat ul Hassan, Sheikh Khalid Rasool, Imran Nabi Wani , Owaise Muneer Bhat , Danish Rahim Mir, Sameer Ahmad Khan, Danish Ayoub Badoo, Musawir Ahmad Bhat and Bashir Ahmad Bhat and many more are being penalized for being Kashmiris and all these inmates are actually prisoners of conscience and international community needs to take steps for ensuring their safety and safe release from Indian jails.

While appealing the international human rights groups like Amnesty international, Asia Watch, ICRC and United Nations human rights commission to take cognizance of this Indian hegemonic attitude, JKLF acting chairman said that it is the obligation of the international community to safeguard these inmates and secure their earliest release from jails.

Meanwhile the case regarding the revengeful banning of Jammu Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF) was heard at a high court tribunal in Delhi where senior supreme court lawyer advocate Raja Tufail represented JKLF. The case regarding JKLF ban has been send to a tribunal that had summoned JKLF chairman and others for hearing on 30th May, 2019.
