Khizar Hayat Abbasi,

MUZAFFARABAD: Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) President Sardar Masood Khan on Saturday warned that India’s brutal repression and stifling voices of freedom through the barrel of guns in Occupied Kashmir could lead to dangerous consequences.

“The shocking killing of 15 innocent youth over the past 24 hours bears testimony that trigger-happy Indian forces deployed in Kashmir have crossed all the limits. They are pushing the youth of the occupied territory to the wall,” President Masood said in a statement issued here.

The Kashmiri nation, he said was losing a younger generation to bullets. But rulers in New Delhi must realize that they will be held accountable for all the death and destruction being done in the Occupied Kashmir.

He added that India could not deprive Kashmiris of their birthright of freedom and right to self-determination with state-sponsored terrorism and persecution.

Khan said people of Jammu and Kashmir are determined and India could not deprive them of their unassailable right to self-determination with the military might. Terming brutal Indian repression as a blatant violation of human rights, he said India could not dampen the spirit of Kashmiris for freedom and dignity.

The president maintained that all the tactics used by India to suppress the liberation movement or calm down the resilience shown by the Kashmiri people were failed including the use of brutal force and offering economic incentives which were proof that the occupied valley was not an integral part of India.

“If the Indian claim is true, then why does she deploy more than 700,80, 000 troops in a small valley, besides enforcing black laws?” he questioned.

Saying that sacrifices of precious lives rendered by Kashmiri martyrs will not go in waste, he appealed to the international community and global human rights organizations to take serious notice of the rights abuses in occupied Kashmir.

Masood Khan also urged the world community to see the humanitarian aspect of the Kashmir issue rather than preferring their strategic and economic interests with India.

“The civil society and media, and even parliaments of the several countries in the United Kingdom (UK) Europe and other influential countries understand the issue in its true perspective and ready to listen to us,” Masood added.
