MUZAFFARABAD:  A meeting chaired by deputy commissioner Muzaffarabad Badar Munir of district administration, Municipal Corporation, MDA and public works highway reviewed possibilities of joint action against encroachments in the city.

The meeting decided that a week long joint anti-encroachment drive would be launched by district administration, MC, MDA and public works highway from April 8. Steps would also be taken to beautify the capital city.

Addressing on the occasion deputy commissioner said administration would take all the departments onboard for ending enrochments from the city. The anti-encroachment operation in the light of government directions would continue incessantly. He said all the concerned departments would cooperate in the operation.

He said protection of public lands was basic obligation of all the departments. He added that departments would make available their machinery, staffers and resources during the operation.

He said the operation would be launched from western bypass on Monday ending all the encroachments there. The operation would also be carried out in other parts of the city including Chehla bandi, plate, airport road, Pirchinasi road and Kuhala road, he stated
