Sargodha: The University of Sargodha celebrated Pakistan Day on Friday in high spirits and a firm commitment to impart quality education that would enable the students to contribute in country’s development.

On the day, the students, staff, faculty and the administration renewed pledge to make the country a strong, progressive and prosperous state.

This year, Music Society in collaboration with the Web Development Cell of the University also launched a theme song with regard to Pakistan Day titled ‘KhiyalRakhna’.

The day was celebrated with various in-house activities like art exhibition, delivering speeches on the significance of the day, dressing up in green and white traditional outfits, singing national songs, face painting, quizzes, performing tableaus, national songs competition and paying tribute to the national heroes.

The events were jointly organized by the Riaz Shad Co-curricular Forum and the Institute of Art and Design with an objective to engage youth in extracurricular activities with regard to Pakistan Day and exhibit students’ creative capabilities.

The students and faculty members of the Institute of Art and Design reflected their patriotic enthusiasm, love and tribute to the martyrs and the people who contributed for prosperous Pakistan through landscape paintings, figurative art, sketches, digital posters and textile art while using oil on paint, water colours, pencils and charcoal. The exhibition was appreciated by all visitors.

Addressing the ceremony, Dr Muhammad Afzal, Dean Faculty of Agriculture called for the adoption of national motto of Faith, Unity and Discipline for making the country a welfare state. He said that armed forces of Pakistan are laying their lives for the security of the homeland; the whole nation pays them a rich tribute. Pakistani youth has great potential and are capable of achieving great milestones, he further remarked.

Munir Gujjar, Director Riaz Shad Co-curricular Forum and Ahmad Faraz, Incharge, Institute of Art and Design also addressing the participants, highlighted the significance of the Pakistan Day and stressed the need for promoting patriotism among the youth for a prosperous Pakistan.
