Islamabad: (Parliament Times) President Rawalpindi Islamabad Bureau Journalist Association Sardar Shoukat Mehmood has appreciated the former Norwegian Prime Minister Kjell Magne Bondevik’s efforts for a peaceful settlement of Kashmir dispute.

Mehmood who called on the visiting former Norwegian premier here on Monday termed the unresolved Kashmir dispute as the main hurdle in peace and cause of continued tensions between the two neighbouring states (India and Pakistan). Appreciating Mr. Bondevik’s efforts to seek a peaceful settlement of the lingering Kashmir dispute, Mehmood said that it was high time that the influential world governments should come forward in a big way and play their decisive role to de-escalate tensions by impressing upon the government of India to resolve the Kashmir conflict, which he said was the bone of contention between India and Pakistan.
