ISLAMABAD: Pakistan has called for immediate UN intervention to ease tension in the wake of threats and unnecessary steps taken by India following Pulwama attack.

Foreign Minister (FM) Shah Mehmood Qureshi has sent a letter to UN Secretary General Antanio Guterres to initiate immediate steps.

It has been said in the letter that India is piling blame on Pakistan with regard to Pulwama attack without investigation. India is making the situation tense in the region through anti Pakistan statements under its internal objectives.

It has been further said in the letter that the threat by India for scrapping Indus river treaty will be a gross mistake.

According to India attacker was Kashmiri but even then allegation was leveled against Pakistan. Immediate intervention by UN is must to de-escalate tension. This letter should be provided to members of UN Security Council forthwith.

It is pertinent to mention here 44 Indian paramilitary soldiers were killed and several were injured during car bomb blast hit Occupation Indian security forces caravan on February 14 in district Pulwama at Occupied Kashmir. India on the other hand leveled allegation of attack on Pakistan without investigation and withdraw the most favorite nation status from Pakistan. India also banned screening PSL matches in the country.
