MUZAFFARABAD :  (Parliament Times)   Prime Minister of Azad Jammu and Kashmir Raja Farooq Haider Khan observed that Saints and Mushaikh were instrumental in preaching and dissemination of Islamic teachings in former subcontinent. Talking to media at the mausoleum of renowned saint in Muzaffarabad, Sakhi Sahin Sehli Sarkar whose annual Urs and fair is in progress in the city. It were in fact these saints who converted millions of people to Islam by their mysticism, conduct, teachings for unity and brotherhood, he added. Mr. Haider said that Sahli Sarkar was among those great saints whose teachings are a great source of guidance to the people of AJK and Pakistan as long as this world stays. “The role of Sufis and saints is unforgettable for making the people realize about the importance of rights of fellow human beings and for promoting human friendly atmosphere. They also played pivotal role for improving the economic, religious and social conditions of Muslims of former sub-continent. Their teachings focused on tolerance, endurance, patience and love and mutual respect among the Muslims” he said. The Premier said his government restored the historic and cultural status of Urs of Sakhi Sahin Saheli Sarkar after several decades. The Prime Minister on this occasion also laid wreath on the Mzaar of the saint and offered prayer. Chairman Central Seerat Committee Sahibzada Muhammad Saleem Chishti was also present with Raja Farooq Haider Khan. A large number of devotees and followers are taking part in the annual Urs and the fair of the saint which became a very popular annual festival now. Earlier before the beginning of the Urs the Premier had given special directions to district administration, central seerat committee and Auqaf department to ensure the best possible facilities and security arrangements to the devotees during the Urs.ReplyForward
