MIRPUR (AJK): Mirpur and the adjoining areas lashed with unexpected hail-storm coupled with torrential rainfall Saturday instantly switching the warm weather to cold spell of the just-starting winter.
Amid the thick black clouds the city suddenly received hailstorm Saturday morning with heavy rainfall coupled with wind storm of mild intensity.
The downpour was continuing intermittently till filing of this report partially affecting the electricity, roads and telecommunication system in certain various areas of the Mirpur division comprising Kotli, Mirpur and Bhimbher district, according to the reports.
There are also reports of uprooting of trees and electricity poles at certain places in the division because of the wind storm of mild intensity.
The upper reaches of AJ had earlier remained in the grip of intermittent rains since Friday which had partially affected the routine llife in the top mountainous remote areas which were partially affected following damaging of kacha link roads in top mountainous Neelam and Leepa vallies due to land sliding where snow-fall was also reported with pause at some of the top mountains.
