Islamabad: A new oncology ward has been established in the Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS) for treatment of cancer patients.
According to media reports, federal government has started taking practical measures in order to make capital a model city.
Earlier, there was no separate ward for cancer patients due to which they were facing difficulties in their check-up but now a new ward comprising 18 beds has been set up in the hospital.
Apart from formation of a new ward for cancer patient’s treatment, process of upgradation of other wards has also been initiated.
4 out of 12 wards have been upgraded so far while the remaining will be upgraded within 6 months.
On the other hand, cardiac center has already been upgraded.
Meanwhile, security system has also been launched in hospital wards to stop entry of unauthorized people in the wards.
Under this security system, after specific time, no one will be allowed to enter in wards except those who look after patients.
