Islamabad: (Parliament Times) As the date of bye-elections in LA 18 Poonch 2 Hajira is drawing nearer the residents of village Sirari have vowed to continue with their demonstrations in the area until their demands are met.
The Chairman Awami Tehreek upper Sarari Sardar Arshad Hanif, Naeem Akbar, Sardar Eja, Liaqat Chudhary, Ch. Rashid, Sajjad Haider, Haji Ishaq, Rehan Ashraf and others during their separate statements said that the people of the area have so far been worst victims of indifference and apathy of government as well as the public representatives who sought vote and support from poor, and economically underprivileged masses of the area. The politicians who boastfully claim to be the public representatives they said have a history of leaving masses in the lurch. Rather than addressing the problems faced by the people of area they said that the lack of commitment on the part of political leaders have pushed the people especially the youth of area into a quagmire of frustration and despondence. The representatives of Awami Tehreek said that it was unfortunate that the politicians who are directly responsible for this pathetic condition in the area were visiting the area to woe the voters. They said that the poor masses of the area have now graduated to a level that they won’t let any further exploitation of their votes. They reiterated the peoples’ resolve to boycott the forthcoming elections saying that a mass protest will be arranged soon in the area after due consultations with all stakeholders.
