“38 property owners issued notices for illegal construction”

Rawalpindi: The Food Branch officials of Rawalpindi Cantonment Board on Monday visited different areas of the city and took effective notice of the lack of proper cleanliness at various food points.
Qaisar Mehmood, a spokesman of the Cant Board said that during their visit to Sadar, Peshawar Road and Alahabad areas the Food Branch officials have issued notices to the owners of food points for substandard cleanliness and working without licenses. Mehmood said that 25 food points were checked out of which 14 food points were issued notices for substandard cleanliness at work places and for operating without licenses. He said that show cause notices were issued to the owners whereas sample of 16 edible items have been taken and sent to the laboratory for tests. He said that Cantonment Executive officer Sabtain Raza had issued strict orders in this regard and the Food Branch officials were carrying out operations on daily basis to ensure food safety and hygiene during food processing.
Meanwhile, during its anti-Encroachment Drive the Cantonment Board officials have ceased five trucks of different items from vendors who had setup their stalls illegally on roads and pathways in different markets of Sadar, Bank Road, Peshwar Road, Pirwadai and Bakramundi and surrounding areas of the city.
The spokesman said that the officials of the RCB’s building control department during their day-long operations have taken a notice of illegal construction of buildings in different areas of the city including Marbal Factory, Usmani colony, Farooqabad, Misriyal Road, Quaid-e-Azam colony, Peshawar Road and Ahmed-Abad areas. He said that 38 property owners were issued notices for illegal construction and without any approved map from the board. The property owners were ordered to submit the approved maps in the board otherwise the “illegally constructed buildings” would be demolished.
