Rawlalpindi: The Food Branch officials of Rawalpindi Cantonment Board on Friday imposed a fine of 1 Lakh to Tabark Restaurant and 10 thousand rupee to Bandu Khan for substandard cleanliness, whereas Master Biryani, a well known food-outlet in Sadar has been sealed on the same grounds.
Qaisar Mehmood, a spokesman of the Cant Board said that during their visit to Peshawar Road, Misriyal Road, Kashmir Road and surrounding areas the city the Food Branch officials have issued notices to the owners of food points for substandard cleanliness and working without licenses. Mehmood said that 30 food points were checked out of which 14 food points were issued notices for substandard cleanliness at work places and for operating without licenses. He said that show cause notices were issued to the owners whereas sample of 50 edible items have been taken and sent to the laboratory for tests.
Meanwhile, taking strong exception to the illegal construction of buildings in Sadar area the cantonment board officials have issued notices to 25 building owners, which have either been constructed illegally or without proper maps. The spokesman further said that during its anti-Encroachment Drive the Cantonment Board officials have ceased four trucks of different items from vendors who had setup their stalls illegally on roads, footpaths in different markets of Sadar, Girja Road, Dhoke Syedan and surrounding areas of the city.
