Islamabad: (Parliament Times) The Ministry of Narcotics Control (MNC) in collaboration with the Police College Sihala, Punjab, organized a Seminar on Drugs Abuse Awareness and Prevention with the under-training officials of the Punjab Police on 3rd September 2018 at the Police College Sihala, Punjab. The MNC has been working in close collaboration with all Law Enforcement Agencies (LEAs) for effective campaign against hazards of drug abuse. Mr. Amir Khalil Syed, Superintendent of Police (Force Commander) of the College welcomed the Ministry of Narcotics Control’s awareness team which included Mr. Akbar Ghani Khan Khattak, Section Officer, Miss Asia Ashraf, Humphrey fellow on drug abuse and prevention as Guest Speaker. Mr. Khalid Mehmood, Chief Instructor and Inspector Rizwan were also present on the occasion. The Force Commander appreciated the efforts of MNC to eradicate the growing use of drugs in youth. The basic purpose of the activity was to supplement drugs awareness of the field officers; and to sensitize them about severity of the prevailing drug situation. Further, they were also told as to how they could play their role in fighting menace of the drugs. It was shared with them that the MNC firmly aims at promoting awareness about hazards of the drugs particularly in youth across the country through print and electronic media. Miss Asia Ashraf delivered a very motivating and informative presentation about causes and effects of drugs. She also highlighted treatment and prevention methods of drug addicts. The Session was followed by the Q&A Session and ended with exchange of souvenirs among panelists.
