Muzaffarabad: A public survey was conducted by some journalists of Muzaffarabad about 10 days ago regarding immense use of government vehicles, report of the survey was published here on Sunday.
Majority of people who responded the survey demanded the incumbent government of AJK to implement transport policy besides use of public sector vehicles according to rules.
People were asked in the survey that Should Prime Minister AJK use only 2 vehicles according to rules, 93.5 percent people answered it as “Yes” while others answered as “No”.
Similarly, people were asked that should Minister of AJK use only one vehicle, on which 94.7 percent people answered it as “Yes”, while same percentage of masses demanded Chief Secretary AJK to use only one vehicle according to rules, However, Chief Secretary in a press briefing about a month ago has said that he besides other secretaries of government have 2 official vehicles among which one is for routine use while other is for tours.
Masses also demanded IG AJK to use only one vehicle according to rules and strictly implement the transport policy on his junior officers including DIGs, AIG, AIGP and other senior officials in AJK police who have more than one official vehicle.
In the survey, 96.1 percent people demanded Secretaries, Director Generals, Directors and other heads of department to use only one vehicle according to rules.
Another question regarding transport policy implementation was asked in the survey, on which 97.4 percent people demanded PM AJK to sternly implement transport policy in AJK besides himself making accountable regarding immense use of government vehicles.
People also disliked the initiative of purchasing new vehicles for Ministers by AJK government and 89.5 percent people said that government should “Not” buy new vehicles while 9.2 percent people appreciated it and 1.3 percent people did not give any answer.
In the survey people were asked to give their opinion, on the condition of anonymity some of them have said that incumbent government of AJK should immediately implement its transport policy and they also suggested that every officer from grade 17 to 22 should be given Rs:10000/ each as their fuel expenses and all government vehicles should be sold which will overcome the deficit budget of AJK while another person said that all green number plated vehicles should be parked after office timings either in offices or at the residences of pertinent officers and traffic police should take action if they found any public sector vehicle on road after office timings in addition of holidays besides taking them in their custody and apprise the PM AJK before long.

Journalists who conducted this survey has said that overall 1770 people have participated in this survey and is present in documented with the help of one of the largest online service Google forms including the name, ID card number of each and every single person including their opinion in case of verification besides making this survey transparent.
