MIRPUR (AJK): Water level in the country’s largest AJK-based reservoir of Mangla dam has started rising swiftly as water level in the reservoir was recorded on Saturday as 1160.80 feet against the maximum conservation level 1242 feet with live storage 2.233 MAF of the water, official sources said.
The minimum operating water level in the dam is 1050 feet, the sources told this APP Correspondent on Saturday. The inflows of Jhelum river at Mangla was reported as 35200 cusecs with the outflows of 10000 cusecs from the Mangla dam reservoir, the sources said.

The overall position of the river inflows and outflows at Tarbela, Mangla and Chashma along with the reservoirs levels and the barrages remained on Saturday as under:-

Rivers: Indus at Tarbela: Inflows 259900 cusecs and Outflows 204300 cusecs, Kabul at Nowshera: Inflows 52700 cusecs and Outflows 52700 cusecs, Jhelum at Mangla: Inflows 35200 cusecs and Outflows 10000 cusecs, Chenab at Marala: Inflows 87900 cusecs and Outflows 54300 cusecs.
Barrages: Jinnah: Inflows 264000 cusecs and Outflows 256000 cusecs, Chashma: Inflows 240100 cusecs and Outflows 232800 cusecs, Taunsa: Inflows 214600 cusecs and Outflows 186600 cusecs, Panjnad: Inflows 10000 cusecs and Outflows Nil cusecs Guddu: Inflows 160200 cusecs and Outflows 127700 cusecs, Sukkur: Inflows 113100 cusecs and Outflows 57500, Kotri: Inflows 51600 cusecs and Outflows 9800.

Reservoirs (Level and Storage):
Tarbela: Minimum operating level 1386 feet, present level 1533.29 feet, maximum conservation level 1550 feet, live storage today 5.104 million acre feet (MAF).
Mangla: Minimum operating level 1050 feet, present level 1160.80 feet, maximum conservation level 1242 feet, live storage today 2.233 MAF.
Chashma: Minimum operating level 638.15 feet, present level 641.60 feet, maximum conservation level 649 feet, live storage today 0.051 MAF.
The inflows and outflows of River Indus at Tarbela and Chashma, River Kabul at Nowshera and River Jhelum at Mangla have been reflected as mean flows of 24 hours, whereas the other flows have been gauged at 6.00 a.m, the sources added.
